Welcome To My Studio

I've a library of handmade dolls and backgrounds. I use ring and builders lights and deflectors. I like to use objects from around the home. This project is a legend from the West Coast. After returning from a photo research trip, I set up a large set big enough to show the mountains and sea as well as the waka that brought Maui and his people to New Zealand Aotearoa from Hawaiki.

Mixed Media Diorama- The Fantasy of Hawaiki

This project has a focus on clay and other textures. This legend is about how Māui found his and his peoples' way to Aotearoa (New Zealand) from Hawaiki (somewhere in Oceania) Hawaiki can not be located on a Map as it is of legend. It is the place of beginnings and of the next life, hence the otherworldliness of the style chosen.
